To many, Nehemiah was just a cupbearer. A person who tested the king's food for poison. However, this position demanded great trust, courage, and strategic approach. These qualities allowed Nehemiah to accomplish an extraordinary feat and become a changemaker in his community.
God delights in using individuals or things considered ordinary by the world to display His glory. As a believer, when God places a burden on your heart, He expects you to be well organized.
If you're currently uncertain about a new task, Nehemiah's style of execution could be of benefit to you.
Nehemiah felt a strong desire: "Lord, I want to rebuild the wall."
He sought guidance from God regarding this mission. Through prayer, he was led to approach the king, who then granted him permission and resources to carry out the task.
In planning the wall's reconstruction, he operated in secret. Working on certain tasks in private can help avoid negative influences that might disrupt your work or lead to premature success.
He allocated the work to different groups. Some tasks require collaboration. You need to find the right team members who are skilled for the task. (Division of labour)
He mentally prepared for challenges. 80% of tasks encounter obstacles in various forms. Despite this, he maintained a positive attitude and motivated his team during difficulties, understanding that a divided team could not accomplish the goal.
He spent time in communication with God. You cannot fail when you are connected to the master of the universe.
He understood the need for community building, encouraging collaboration from everyone at all levels, thereby fostering a stronger community.
Dreams and visions won't become reality through wishful thinking or just prayers. Like Nehemiah, you need to apply every strategy given to you by the Holy Spirit, be prepared to take courageous actions and risks, look beyond limitations in your mind and environment, seek resources, and trust God in times of opposition, as challenges will arise.
I hope you accomplish all the tasks before you. I'm rooting for you.
