An apartment facing Sunset Boulevard, a personal assistant, Saturday brunch with top players in the broker industry. Femi received an offer for a managerial position.

It sounded too good to be true, he thought as he felt a sense of thrill and excitement spread through his body.

"What are you waiting for." His wife said.

His pen moved to the bottom of the document, but his heart wouldn't stop racing.

He looked at his wife again and caught a glimpse of sadness which vanished before he could utter a word.

Suddenly, five years of his life flashed before his eyes. He saw his wife alone with the kids at the school psychologist, graduation, and hospital. There was a void of closeness between him and his kids, and the once loving husband and wife were now strangers.

Fear clutched his chest, and he dropped his pen as a wave of nausea engulfed him. "I'm sorry I can't do this." He said and left the room.

Story II

Many years ago, after my terrible divorce, I was told that there was a possibility to give up my son for temporary adoption to advance my career. At 27 with a 9-month-old baby, the idea felt like a breath of fresh air to my aching soul.

Later that night, I had a dream, and God showed me what would happen to my baby if I chose that route.

If the truth is told, not all goals are good for our well-being. However, the human nature is selfish and inconsiderate, but there is still hope for change if we desire it.

As you strive for success, have a coffee date with yourself often and reconsider if you are chasing the right goals or not and at what expense?

It is always possible to make a U-turn and follow your true purpose. True purpose brings about transforformation.

See you next time.
