Yesterday evening, while walking through my city, I ran into a friend out of the blue.

What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into a moment of reflection.

I looked her in the eyes and said, “2025 was a hard year. But I entered it with a decision already made, Esther, no matter what happens, you must keep going.”

Despite showing up physically and spiritually, the year still came with its fair share of challenges, times that shook me to my bones. Yet, I refused to let those moments define me or push me into the pit of depression. I learned that pain can become a compass to lead you out of the tunnel.

This year, I did things differently.

I positioned myself for growth. Instead of declining networking events like I used to, I attended them. And those rooms did more than introduce me to new people, they sparked new ideas and awakened abilities I didn’t even know existed. I began to see myself in a new light, one that reflected prospect instead of limitation.

2025 also taught me the power of emotional maturity. I learned to sit with my emotions instead of running from them. I received feedback with an open heart, adjusted where growth was required, and became slower to react to provocations. One hard but necessary lesson stood out clearly. Distractions can derail a person of purpose.

Emotions are real, but they are also fickle. You can't be led by emotions.

Another truth I came to terms with. It is not my job to fix anyone. I can help where I’m invited, love where I’m needed, and support where I’m able, but babysitting a fully grown adult is not part of my assignment.

While I may not have checked off every single goal I set for myself, I gained something even more valuable. DISCERNMENT. I learned to trust only the voice of God and His leading. I discovered that consistent effort yields far more fruit than complaints or envy ever will.

And perhaps the simplest lesson of all, If you want to do something do it. Stop overthinking, stop sitting on the fence, just move and if possible with the right team.

I'll like to hear about your year.

Thanks for reading,

Mit besten Grußen/Warm wishes,

Esther
